The Stage
Silver Project Group was contacted by a client, a Silicon Valley-based venture capital firm, to perform a unique search for their portfolio company, Unite (formerly “Unite Genomics), a AI-powered healthcare data analytics company, is backed by New Enterprise Associates, Mark Cuban, The House Fund, among others.
The Challenge
Unite, at the time a seed-stage company, was searching for their next VP of Sales/Business Development in order to grow the business in all facets - sales, GTM strategy and operations, revenue scaling and business expansion. To be successful in this role, this individual needed to not only be versed in speaking the language of data analytics and AI, but also have previous experience selling healthcare-related SaaS products, at enterprise scale, to large pharmaceutical companies (Unite’s core market).

The Execution
Silver Project Group started by researching relevant companies within the healthcare, genomics, data and AI industries in order to create a talent ecosystem from which to start identifying candidates. The search was highly targeted to exceptional sales leaders within the AI and healthcare industries who had existing relationships with Unite’s addressable market.
Silver Project Group generated a long list of over 100 initial candidates with a mix of referrals and net new sourcing. Unite’s founders were invaluable partners in this search, providing honest feedback which enabled SPG to calibrate the field of candidates with a great amount of detail.
The Result
Originally advertised as “VP level”, the role was eventually elevated to the position of Chief Commercial Officer. Theo Ahadome brings 15 years of experience in the digital health industry. A graduate of Cambridge and Duke (MBA), Theo has been influential in building strong sales pipelines at large companies like Amgen and start ups like Science 37 and Happify - experience that is invaluable to an early stage client like Unite. SPG is proud to have worked with Unite in placing Theo as their first Chief Commercial Officer.
